Our Sports Day July 2009
|
People are important to us and it is good to take time out and interact in a non-work environment. On 9th July 2009, our inaugural Hubbards Sports Day was held at the Manukau Indoor Arena. It was an awesome day of fun, laughter and competitiveness!!
Four teams were put together, the members selected at random to make it as fair as possible. Before the games began a “light’ warm up was conducted to stretch the muscles and get the hearts pumping the sporting blood around the bodies. Thank you to Mike And John for stepping in and leading the warm-up session.

The teams competed in three different sports, netball, cricket and soccer. And boy did they compete. There was some serious attention paid to getting the “best” from the situation and I am sure some queries of the refereeing decisions…

Notable highlight of the day was the outstanding performance of Kalo from Packing. She scored a couple of superb goals in her very first game of soccer. Rumour has it she beat the best while bare foot. That is what we could call talent!
Refreshments were provided with drinks available throughout the day and a healthy lunch of Subway and fruit was also available.

There is no doubt that we have some very talented, skilled sports people amongst the Hubbard’s team. Graham Henry would be proud of you all!

It was so pleasing to see many people taking the opportunity to chat with the two Health Educators present; they were there with information on Arthritis and Diabetes. We hope that they were able to assist you.
