Frequently Asked Questions - Sales & Marketing
Are Hubbard's cereals available outside New Zealand?
We receive numerous requests for our products to be sold overseas, but unfortunately we only export on a limited basis to Fiji, Tahiti, Singapore, Samoa and India.
In the meantime, if you live outside of these areas and wish to purchase our cereals, there are two options:
- Have a holiday in New Zealand and take the product back home with you. If you decide to do this, you will need to check the custom regulations in your native country to ensure that this is OK.
- Purchase online from www.productsfromnewzealand.com
Can I buy the product directly from Hubbards?
No, we do not have a retail shop. We only sell to the New Zealand Grocery trade and to selected export distributors.
Can we be taken in as product testers?
Currently we do not have this facility set up.
Do you give out samples?
No we do not give out individual samples from our website. However, we do hand out samples in supermarkets or at specific events when a new product is launched..
Why are the boxes too big for the contents?
Box size varies from packet to packet. Due to the nature of cereal processing, there is some variation in the density from product to product. The product needs to be put in the packet. After packing, there is some settling which is natural to most mixed ingredient food products. We take care to minimize the amount of headspace but some is necessary to allow the bag to be inserted into the packet during packing.
What is Hubbard's market share?
Hubbard's market share has gone from strength to strength since the company was formed. From a modest market share of 3% on the 4th March 1993, the company has now got 9.4% share of Ready to Eat Breakfast Cereals*, making us the 3rd largest breakfast cereal company in New Zealand (after Sanitarium and Kellogg's respectively).
