Hubbards Team Cooks Dinner for the Families at Ronald McDonald House
|
Ronald McDonald House Auckland is a ‘home away from home’ for families from all over NZ whose desperately ill children require potentially lifesaving treatment. They provide shelter and support for those families who must travel to Auckland because the specialist treatment their child urgently requires isn’t necessarily available to them nearby.

The House and Family Room are run by the RMH Auckland Trust which is a 100% community charitable trust. This trust requires the support of the community and its businesses to survive and continue to provide the wonderful service that it does for all those families in their times of need.
|
|
Hubbards is one of a number of businesses that helps RMH in their quest to provide these families with accommodation and support in their times of need, by donating money from the sales of our kids’ cereals, as well as giving product to RMH for the residents to consume during their stay.

 |
Another way to help those families during their stay at RMH is to volunteer to cook everyone’s dinner on specified nights. This is open to corporate groups or simply a group of friends wanting to volunteer. Over the past year a team from Hubbards has volunteered to cook dinner for approximately 80 – 100 parents and children staying in the “Home Away from Home.”

We have cooked the following delicious meals which have been designed by our Ronald McDonald House Dinner Coordinator – Catherine who is part of our Marketing Team.
- Homemade burgers
- Turkish Chicken
- Meatballs
- Honey Soy Chicken
All accompanied with a choice of salads and vegetables and potatoes or cous cous.

Our most popular dessert by far is our Quality Manager's famous "Banoffee Pie." It is widely talked about around the house and leftovers are treated like gold!
We would like to spread the word about this opportunity to help out and challenge all other companies to do their part in supporting this wonderful facility.
