Kea Conservation Trust

Kea are an endangered species and the New Zealand Kea is the world’s only mountain parrot, unique to the South Island. There are only 1000 – 5000 Keas (estimated) remaining in the wild, which is why Kea need our help.

Hubbards supports the Kea Conservation Trust and their nest monitoring program to help ensure the continued survival of Kea.

Hubbards are also part sponsoring the winter survey which is running through July.

The Kea Conservation Trust aims to raise awareness of Kea issues, carry out important research and direct funds to support conservation and best management practice of all wild and captive Kea in New Zealand

To ensure the continued survival of Kea, we need to research the threats, find ways to prevent more deaths and ensure the remaining population is stable.
