Food Technology has already taken me into many different food companies all over the country. Every summer Food Technology students are required to complete work experience in the food industry. I have worked in a winery, helped develop food safety systems in an industrial bakery, and completed a product development project at Fonterra.
After graduating I started the Fonterra Graduate Technical Programme; this involves learning all about dairy from the different experts at Fonterra and visiting the different processing plants around the country. I’m currently based in the Waikato finishing a project which goes towards my Masters in Dairy Science and Technology. After completing my Masters with the company, I’ll start a manufacturing support role in a team called Market Technical.
