I completed my degree in November last year. It was a challenging degree, but it is great to have finished it now. I made great friends in my course and I hope that we will stay in touch in the years to come. As part of my degree I completed three years of summer work experience. This was a great opportunity to see what the industry was like and practice some of the theory learnt at uni. I worked at Cookie Time Ltd., Independent Fisheries Ltd. and a small Fonterra site in Christchurch.

During these summers I got to experience a range of roles in the food industry including working on a production line, helping in a microbiology lab and running my own projects. Since finishing uni I have been working for Tatua Dairy Co-op which is based out of Morrinsville in the Waikato.

In my role as a Development Technologist I work with Sales and Marketing to develop products to meet a customers needs. I am responsible for my own projects from the initial brief right through until commercialisation. The development work is primarily in speciality cream products designing both consumer and food service products. I have really enjoyed working for Tatua and look forward to the challenges associated with developing new products.

I really appreciate the support from Hubbards that helped me get through my degree and make it to where I am now.
